Brooklyn Democrat Simcha Felder Rumored to be Switching Parties

The possibility, reported Monday in the Daily News, that Deputy City Comptroller Simcha Felder could leave the Democratic Party to run for a new Brooklyn congressional district on the Republican line has been met so far with little more than silence.
Felder reportedly refused to comment on reports that at a meeting with Republican leaders, he said he’d be willing to run on the GOP line if a district that would unite the heavily Orthodox Jewish areas of Midwood and Borough Park is created. Currently, these areas are split among several congressional districts.

Rick Perry announced Tuesday that he had earned the endorsement of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the controversial but influential Arizona lawman known for his tough stance on illegal immigration.
"The federal government has failed on border crime and border enforcement, and no candidate for president has done more to secure the border than Gov. Rick Perry. I have been watching Gov. Perry and Texas closely and know his border surge operations with state, local and federal law enforcement officials have helped shut down the illegal trafficking of weapons, drugs and people," said Arpaio in a statement.

I would also add white MARRIED women to this vanishing group of Democrats. Anyway, here's what they have to say:
Roger Jones, Tommy Ragland and Mark Craig, Billy Bell and Jim Smith are all white male Democrats holding local elected offices - a categorization that now puts them on the endangered species list.
Men like them once ruled the Earth - or at least politics in Alabama and Madison County - but the atmosphere and the electorate have changed.
A local Democratic Party leader and three elected Democrats have their own ideas about why their numbers are dwindling. Tagging local Democrats with labels associated with the national Democratic Party's position on issues is chief among the reasons cited.

Democrat Heidi Heitkamp reportedly leads Republican Rep. Rick Berg in the first poll of North Dakota’s contested 2012 Senate race.

But that’s not surprising, say Republicans and political observers, because the poll was commissioned by a partisan group motivated to see Heitkamp elected.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released a poll last week that found Heitkamp edging out Berg 47 percent to 42 percent.

Was Politico Always This Biased?

Was Politico always as biased as it is now? I know it has not been around that long and that it is controlled by the Washington Post, but in the beginning it seemed to me that it tried to at least give an appearance of being impartial. Recently however, it seems like every single story that I come across from them is as blatantly in the pocket of the Democrat Party as a story from MSNBC, New York Times, ABC News... or the Washington Post for that matter.

Oregon: Saba Ahmed Switches Parties, Becomes a Republican

This is interesting. Even young Muslim women are abandoning the Democrat party? Who will be left to vote for Obama besides socialists, perverts, Occupy Fill-In-The-Blankers, and race-based voters?

Saba Ahmed, the young Muslim woman from Beaverton who ran in the Democratic primary for Oregon's 1st District congressional seat, says she has switched to the Republican Party.

From her Facebook page: "Never thought I would see this day, but I am officially a registered REPUBLICAN. Thank you to all the Oregon Democrats for helping me realize my Conservative Potential. Looking forward to 2012 Republican Victories!"

Ahmed, who had interned for then-Gov. Ted Kulongoski and Rep. Earl Blumenauer, has been a frequent participant in Democratic events. She received less than a half-percent of the votes in last week's primary.

Mississippi: Republicans Likely to Control House of Representatives for First Time Since Reconstruction

Mississippi has become an even stronger oasis for Americans after last weeks elections:
Republicans appear to hold the majority in the Mississippi state House of Representatives for the first time since Reconstruction, following last week's general election, a party official said on Monday.

Although results have not yet been certified in all races, Mississippi Republican Party Chairman Arnie Hederman said on Monday that his party had been credited with wins in at least 63 seats.

The leader of a violent fake-identification ring that operated in 11 states pleaded guilty to racketeering and two other charges an hour before his trial was scheduled to begin in federal court Tuesday.

Israel Cruz Millan of Raleigh, N.C., led a fake ID ring enterprise with roots in Mexico that prosecutors say protected its lucrative turf with beatings and at least one slaying. A trial for the man accused of that killing, alleged former Arkansas cell leader Edy Jiminez-Oliverez, began Tuesday as scheduled.

British Less Likely to be Suckered Into 'Global Warming' Scam

Overall, half of Canadians (52%, -8 since October) and Americans (49%, +7) say that that global warming is a fact and is mostly caused by emissions from vehicles and industrial facilities. Only 43 per cent of Britons (-4) agree with this assessment.
In the United States, one-in-five respondents (20%, -5) think that global warming is a theory that has not yet been proven, along with 20 per cent of Britons (+2) and 14 per cent of Canadians (=).
More than half of Canadians (55%, -6) believe it is more important to protect the environment, even at the risk of hampering economic growth, while 22 per cent (+4) would prefer to foster economic growth, even at the risk of damaging the environment.
In the United States, 47 per cent of respondents (+2) would emphasize protecting the environment, while 26 per cent (-4) would foster economic growth. The biggest change since last year comes in Britain, where only 40 per cent of respondents would protect the environment (-11) and 33 per cent would prefer to foster economic growth (+11).

Kagan Must Recuse Herself from Obamacare Decision

It looks like an open-and-shut case to me. If Kagan stays on, it will be a new low in the history of our judicial stystem.

On Sunday, March 21, 2010, the day the House of Representatives passed President Barack Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, then-Solicitor General Elena Kagan and famed Supreme Court litigator and Harvard Law Prof. Laurence Tribe, who was then serving in the Justice Department, had an email exchange in which they discussed the pending health-care vote, according to documents the Department of Justice released late Wednesday to the Media Research Center, CNSNews.com's parent organization, and to Judicial Watch.
According to 28 USC 455, a Supreme Court justice must recuse from “any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.” The law also says a justice must recuse anytime he has “expressed an opinion concerning the merits of the particular case in controversy” while he “served in governmental employment.”

Party Switch! Mississippi State Senator Joins GOP

Sen. Gray Tollison, who has been a prominent Democrat in that chamber, said he had considered changing parties for "almost a year."

Oklahoma: Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett in Trouble

Mayor Dewey Bartlett won't face re-election until 2013, but a new Tulsa World-sponsored poll shows that, if the election happened today, 58 percent of Tulsans would vote for another candidate. The scientific survey indicates 26 percent would vote for Bartlett, while 16 percent didn't know or refused to answer. That could give other candidates the confidence to challenge Bartlett, SoonerPoll.com's Bill Shapard said, but two years is forever in politics, so a lot could change for the mayor.

  • 01. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
  • 02. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
  • 03. Develop the illustion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

  • 09. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
  • 10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
  • 11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
  • 12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
  • 13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
  • 14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
  • 15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
  • 16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
  • 17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
  • 18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
  • 19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
  • 20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
  • 21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
  • 22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
  • 23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
  • 24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
  • 25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
  • 26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
  • 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
  • 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
  • 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
  • 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
  • 31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
  • 32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
  • 33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
  • 34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
  • 35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
  • 36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
  • 37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
